Court Reinstates Talk Show Host’s Work Permit

Kyiv Administrative Court overturned the decision of Kyiv Employment Centre on revoking the work permit of journalist Savik Shuster, as his associate Pavlo Yelizarov informed. "We sued the Employment Centre in court, and it ruled in favor of Shuster," he explained.

Therefore, the work permit that Shuster received in March 2016 is valid again. The Employment Centre has five days to appeal this decision.

The story began on April 26, when Kyiv Employment Centre revoked the work permit of Mr. Shuster, the host of leading political talk show Shuster Live. As a protest, the journalist went on a two-day hunger strike.
