National Security Council: 10,000 Ukrainians Died in Two Years of the War
Militants and the Russian military killed approximately 10,000 Ukrainians in the two years of the Anti-terrorist operation in parts of Donbas, while 20,000 people were wounded — Ukrinform reported on May 31, 2016.
Mykhailo Koval, the First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated this during a meeting of Trilateral Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian parliamentary Assembly.
"Our country has been a target of Russian aggression for more than two years. During this time, the militants and their Russian masters killed 10,000 Ukrainians and injured more than 20,000," he said. Mr. Koval also reminded that almost 2 million Ukrainian citizens were forced to temporarily leave their houses because of the war.
