Mustafa Nayyem, MP from Petro Poroshenko Bloc outlined the information he received during his meeting with the newly appointed Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko in a Facebook post [ed.: this Facebook post is in the Russian language].

Nayyem wrote that he got the impression three of the six Deputies to the Prosecutor General were to be dismissed soon, but he was not very happy with those who were to remain. Nayyem believes that the remaining deputies could become a reputational hazard for the newly appointed Prosecutor General.

However, he was glad about the planned appointments — one of the future Deputy Prosecutors, whose names Nayyem prefers not to announce, is a famous lawyer, the other one has a lot of international experience.

Nayyem concluded to say that the meeting left him with an ambiguous feeling: during his one-on-one conversation with the Prosecutor General the MP felt faith in the reforms and desire to help, but he still has his reservations given the previous experience of other people who held this post and the circumstances surrounding the vote for appointment of Yuriy Lutsenko.
