Prosecutor General Visited His Former Prison Cell

Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko visited cell #158 in Lukyanivska prison in Kyiv where he served a sentence for almost two years, according to his press secretary Larysa Sargan.

She attached the photographs of the Prosecutor General sitting on his prison bed to her Facebook post [ed.: the text of this Facebook post is in the Ukrainian language] about the visit and reminded that Yuriy Lutsenko is "a former political prisoner".

In a separate post [ed.: the text of this Facebook post is in the Ukrainian language], Sargan also published a photograph of an aluminium prison cup in the Prosecutor General’s office.

Before Verkhovna Rada voted for the new Prosecutor General, in his speech in front of the MPs Lutsenko said he kept the cup he used in prison on his desk "as a reminder of the need to change the penal system."
